Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cedar Rapids & East Central Iowa is now hiring for a Development Specialist!

This position’s primary responsibility is clerical support for the Development Team.

Duties include:

  • To provide support for agency events and meetings
  • Assist in creating and tracking event costs and budget
  • Assist in creation, production, delivery and follow up of event invitations and materials
  • Assist in coordinating event logistics, including IT needs
  • Preparation and setup of materials
  • Recruit, manage and coordinate volunteers for special events as needed
  • Staff events as requested by Leadership
  • Provide infrastructure support for agency donations
  • Data entry & CRM database management
  • Invoicing & Thank You’s to agency donors
  • Follow up on accounts receivables
  • Other support as needed
  • To personally staff all major fundraising event
  • Attend All-Staff, Development and monthly 1:1 meetings
  • All other duties as assigned

Education requirements : High School Graduate, college degree a plus

Experience : 1+ years experience in data management

Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Personable with friendly business etiquette used in oral and written communication
  • Organization and Time Management
  • Computer Proficiency
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work with confidential information
  • Use of Database Management System preferred
  • Non-profit fundraising and event experience preferred

This position requires occasional evening or weekend hours for agency events.
