CEDAR RAPIDS, Ia., Thursday, June 14, 2012- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cedar Rapids & East Central Iowa has received the highest honor and recognition within the organization of being named both Small Market Agency and Board of the Year! In April, the Cedar Rapids area agency learned they were one of 13 of the national organization’s 355 affiliates recognized as “Gold Standard” for their quality mentoring services to children. This award is given to agencies exhibiting qualities that make the work of the agency top in the field: growth in program service, growth in revenue and several quality measures, including high retention rates among those served, indicating strong relationships among Bigs and Littles.

As a Gold Standard winner, the agency became a finalist for Small Market Agency of the Year and Board of the Year and was announced the winner of both awards at the Leadership Summit held in Washington, D.C. June 12-13, 2012.
